Hi, I'm William.
I was born in Harlem and I am a lifelong resident of East Harlem - El Barrio, the very community I’m running to serve and fight for. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Political Science & Government with a minor in Economics of Management from The City College of New York, where I also studied Accounting, building a strong foundation in public policy, government, and community leadership. I'm fighting for affordable housing, strong schools, working families, safer communities, and real results in East Harlem - El Barrio, Harlem, and the Upper East Side.
For more than 15 years, my work across the public and private sectors focused on improving how systems serve people. Today, I serve as a Board Member of the NAACP New York branch, continuing my commitment to civil rights, economic opportunity, and stronger communities.
I’ve built my career delivering results across government, labor, and finance:
-
Started my career in public service working with the late Congressman Charles B. Rangel
-
Worked as a policy analyst for former New York State Assembly Member Keith L. T. Wright, focusing on public housing, social services, and public safety
-
Managed contract compliance for major infrastructure projects at the MTA
-
Advocated for transit workers’ rights, pensions, and fair treatment for working-class New Yorkers
-
Worked in investment consulting for non-profits, supporting retirement and pension planning, and strengthening financial decision-making for hospitals, foundations, and endowments
-
Helped families plan for long-term financial security
As a Democratic District Leader since 2021, I’ve worked directly with residents to address real challenges:
-
Advocating for NYCHA tenants
-
Helping families facing housing instability and eviction
-
Hosting financial literacy and community workshops
-
Organizing forums to connect residents with resources
-
Working with city agencies to deliver results for residents
-
Supporting efforts to ensure public resources are used effectively for the community
I’ve seen firsthand how important it is for government to work efficiently and deliver for the people it serves—and I’ve spent my career helping make that happen.
That’s why I’m running—because our community deserves leadership that gets results.
I’ve already been doing that work:
-
Advocating for more affordable housing and increased NYCHA funding
-
Working on policies that impact affordability and economic opportunity
-
Supporting workers, families, and public schools
-
Advocating for civil rights and equity
-
Building partnerships across our communities
-
Supporting environmental justice and healthier neighborhoods
I understand how the government works—and where it can work better. And I’m ready to help deliver real results for you.
I’m fighting for a district that is:
-
Affordable
-
Safe
-
Economically strong
A district that is safe, inclusive and welcoming for families, women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and people of all races, cultures, and faiths—because our community is strongest when everyone is respected and included.
Let’s build something better—together.
